Hina Javed case: Post-mortem finds multiple injuries

RAWALPINDI: The post-mortem examination of Hina Javed, who was found dead at her home in Rawalpindi’s Lalkurti area, has revealed injuries on several parts of her body, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to the post-mortem findings, Hina suffered a fracture to a bone in her neck. Injury marks were also found on her ribs and hip area. The report further stated that blood was present in the pericardium and heart.

Hina’s body was recovered from a bathroom at her residence within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. The examination was conducted around 12 hours after her death.

Police had initially informed the doctor that Hina had allegedly been hanged by her husband. However, the post-mortem examination identified several injuries and did not immediately establish a definite cause of death.

Doctors collected DNA and other forensic samples from the victim’s body. The samples were sent to laboratories for further examination. The final cause of death is expected to be determined after the forensic results and other evidence are assessed.

Police have arrested Hina’s husband, Faisal Asghar, and his employee, Zeeshan, in connection with the case. Officials said Hina had been married to Asghar for around nine months.

Investigators have also recovered a rope and wire, which they believe may be linked to the alleged crime. The items have been taken as part of the investigation and will be examined along with other evidence.

The development came a day after a Rawalpindi court granted police a three-day physical remand of the two suspects. Police produced Asghar and Zeeshan before a magistrate and requested custody to further investigate the case.

During the court proceedings, the investigation officer told the magistrate that material evidence had been recovered from the suspects. The court subsequently approved the police request and handed the two men over for three days of physical remand.

Police have expanded the investigation to establish what happened before Hina’s death and how she sustained the injuries identified during the post-mortem examination.

Authorities have also included Asghar’s father in the investigation. Police have recorded his statement as part of efforts to establish the sequence of events and determine whether anyone else was involved
