India’s participation in the Central Asian Volleyball Championship scheduled to begin in Islamabad on July 22, remains uncertain.
According to sources, the Indian Volleyball Federation has not yet confirmed its participation while the Indian team is still awaiting government clearance to travel to Pakistan.
Last week, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) sent the No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Government of Pakistan to the Indian federation.
Under the tournament regulations, if India fails to confirm its participation within the next two days, the team will be excluded from the event. PVF officials are expected to release an updated schedule within the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh and Nepal have already confirmed their participation.
