International Islamic Art Festival starts today

Chief Minister Punjab Parvez Elahi will today (Thursday) inaugurate International Islamic Art Festival in connection with the International Day of Islami Art by UNESCO, organized by Lahore Arts Council Alhamra in collaboration with the Pakistan Arts Council Karachi. Provincial Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Taimur Masood will be the guest of honor whereas Chairman Board of Governors of Lahore Arts Council Alhamra Razi Ahmed and President Pakistan Arts Council Karachi Ahmed Shah will also attend the opening ceremony. Renowned artist Irfan Qureshi will explain the importance of celebrating the International Day of Islamic Art of UNESCO. In the opening session, Director of Yunus Emery, a Turkish Cultural Center, Erin Miyasogu, Cultural Attaché and Director General of Khana Farhang Iran Jafar Ronas, Managing Director of Punjab Bank will be the guests of honor. While famous singer of Qawwali and Sufi music Sher Miandad will perform at the closing ceremony of the first day. The festival will continue till November 20.
