According to Indian media reports, police in Bhopal have registered a case against Shashank Singh, his father and a driver for allegedly physically assaulting and verbally abusing a household employee.
The case was registered at Ratibad Police Station under sections related to using abusive language, causing minor physical injury and committing an offense with common intention.
The complainant, Vipendra Singh Tomar said he was hired by the Singh family as a cook on June 25 for a monthly salary of ₹15,000. Tomar alleged that he was treated harshly from his very first day of work and that his mobile phone was taken away.
He further claimed that on June 28, when he asked for his phone back, Shailesh Singh refused. According to the complaint, Shashank Singh, his father and the driver then entered his room, assaulted him, verbally abused him, forced him out of the house and allegedly made him transfer ₹1,000 under the pretext of accommodation and food expenses.
Shashank Singh has denied all the allegations calling them baseless. He said his mother found the cook intoxicated, which led to his dismissal from the job.
