Iranian Diplomat warns Netanyahu’s actions could lead to total war with the West

Iran’s top diplomat in the UK has warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is attempting to push the West into a “total war” in the Middle East. Seyed Mehdi Hosseini Matin, Iran’s Charge d’Affaires in the UK, stated that any further Israeli aggression would be met with a stronger and immediate response from Tehran. Matin stated that Iran had already shown restraint by giving prior warning before launching their recent drone and missile attack in retaliation for the April 1 strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Matin denied claims that Iran had made a strategic error in its actions and stressed that the Western powers should not fall into Netanyahu’s trap of escalating tensions in the region. He urged Western countries to act as rational actors and not be swayed by Israel’s desire for power. Matin also highlighted that Iran’s recent military operation targeted only Israeli military sites and took precautions to avoid civilian casualties.

Despite calls for calm from US and European leaders, Matin warned that the consequences of continued provocation by Israel could spiral out of control. He stated that Iran had successfully reinstated deterrence with its recent response and showcased its military capabilities as a regional superpower. Matin stated that Iran had acted within its rights to defend itself and that the mission had been accomplished.

Overall, Matin’s comments reflect Iran’s firm stance against further aggression from Israel and its commitment to maintaining stability in the region.
