Pakistan is preparing to host the 9th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women in Islamabad on July 12 and 13.
Delegations from OIC member states have arrived in the federal capital to participate in the two-day conference focused on promoting women’s social, economic, and political empowerment.
The conference will be held under the theme “Socio-Economic and Political Empowerment of Women in OIC Countries: Challenges and Way Forward.”
The event will bring together ministers dealing with women and family affairs, senior officials, representatives of OIC institutions, international organisations, and development partners.
Participants will discuss challenges faced by women and explore ways to improve their role in economic development, decision-making, and social progress.
Pakistan will chair the conference and work with OIC member states to strengthen cooperation and develop joint strategies for women’s advancement.
Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar will take charge as chairperson of the conference on behalf of Pakistan.
During the meeting, delegates will review progress made in women’s empowerment initiatives and exchange experiences, policies, and successful practices from different countries.
The conference will also focus on identifying practical steps to increase women’s participation in economic, social, and political fields across OIC nations.
