Israeli strikes kill 12, including two children, in Southern Lebanon

BEIRUT: At least 12 people, including two children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese health authorities.

Reuters reported that the Lebanese Ministry of Health said Israeli aircraft carried out two strikes on a village in southern Lebanon on Monday, killing at least 12 people and injuring several others.

According to the ministry, one of the strikes hit a residential building, killing 11 people, including two children and four women. The attack also injured eight people, among them three children and a paramedic.

A second Israeli strike targeted a car in the same village. The attack killed a paramedic affiliated with the Lebanese Islamic Risala Scout Association and injured two other people.

The strikes added to tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, where military exchanges have continued to raise concerns about further escalation in the region.

Meanwhile, another incident occurred in Nabatieh while journalists were covering the situation live. A missile strike landed near a reporting team, injuring both a reporter and a cameraman.

Lebanon has repeatedly called for an end to attacks on civilian areas, while the latest strikes have renewed concerns over the safety of residents, emergency workers and journalists operating in southern Lebanon.
