Japanese Ambassador visits Lahore’s NHM, explores Pakistan’s heritage

The ambassador was accompanied by diplomats from the Embassy of Japan and was received by NHM Director Awais Malik and members

LAHORE: Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Akamatsu Shuichi visited the National History Museum (NHM) Lahore on Thursday, where he explored the museum’s exhibitions showcasing Pakistan’s history, culture and heritage.

The ambassador was accompanied by diplomats from the Embassy of Japan and was received by NHM Director Awais Malik and members of the museum’s team.

During the visit, the delegation was given a guided tour of the museum, with officials briefing the guests on Pakistan’s historical journey and the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

The Japanese ambassador also experienced some of the museum’s interactive attractions, including the Virtual Reality Train and Camera From the Past (CFTP), which use immersive technology to present historical narratives to visitors.

During discussions, the two sides explored opportunities for strengthening cultural cooperation and expanding Pakistan-Japan people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

The visit highlighted the National History Museum’s growing role as a platform for preserving and presenting Pakistan’s heritage through modern and interactive experiences.

Officials said the engagement also provided an opportunity to promote international cultural dialogue and deepen understanding between Pakistan and Japan through heritage and history.
