Garner revealed she did not even know how to read a spreadsheet when she first started. She admitted that side of the business still overwhelms her at times, even now.

Despite the steep learning curve, she said she genuinely loves being a student in the room. According to Garner, that willingness to keep learning has stayed with her throughout the process.

In 2017, Garner joined Once Upon a Farm, an organic children’s food company, and has since become one of its co-founders. Her involvement marked a significant shift from her acting career into the business world.

She also pointed out a surprising upside to starting later in life. Garner said she’s grateful to enter the room as an adult rather than someone needing to prove herself.

She explained that she does not feel the pressure to dictate how things should be run. According to her, she is not driven by a need to be in charge, which has made the experience easier to navigate.

At 54, Garner made clear that age has not dulled her appetite for new challenges. She said it feels great to still feel hungry for growth, even after decades in the spotlight.
