Jennifer Lopez reveals what truly makes a man attractive

Jennifer Lopez has shared her thoughts on what truly makes a man attractive, saying genuine care and everyday acts of kindness matter far more than wealth or luxury.

The 56-year-old singer and actress made the remarks while performing at Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda event in Taormina, Sicily, just days before celebrating her 57th birthday on July 24.

During her performance, Lopez engaged in a light-hearted conversation with her backup dancers and the audience, reflecting on relationships and what she values most in a partner. She explained that she has never believed expensive gifts or financial support are the foundation of a meaningful relationship.

“I have my own money,” Lopez told the audience, making it clear that while receiving gifts can be a thoughtful gesture, they are not what she considers most important.

She added that although it is nice when a partner occasionally surprises someone with a gift, material possessions alone do not create genuine attraction or lasting love.

According to Lopez, the qualities that truly stand out are simple acts of consideration that show care and respect in everyday life.

She said a man becomes attractive not because of an expensive watch, a luxury car or even a private jet, but because he willingly helps with daily responsibilities. Lopez explained that making the bed in the morning or washing the dishes after a long day demonstrates thoughtfulness and partnership, describing those actions as genuinely “sexy.”

Addressing the women in the audience, she noted that women often take on many responsibilities at home and in their daily lives. She suggested that when a partner shares those responsibilities without being asked, it reflects love, maturity and mutual respect.

Her comments were met with applause from the audience, with many appreciating her emphasis on kindness and shared effort over displays of wealth.

Lopez concluded her performance by expressing her gratitude to Dolce & Gabbana founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for hosting the prestigious event. She also shared her affection for Italy, ending her appearance by saying, “Ti amo, Italia!”

The performance formed part of Dolce & Gabbana’s exclusive three-day Alta Moda celebration in Sicily, which brought together celebrities, fashion figures and invited guests for a showcase of luxury fashion, music and culture ahead of Lopez’s birthday celebrations.
