KARACHI: Polling is underway for the annual elections of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) at the Sindh High Court, bringing an end to months of repeated postponements.
Voting began under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Barrister Zulfiqar Ali Jalbani and will continue until 5:00 pm. Members of the legal fraternity are casting their votes to elect office-bearers for key positions, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and Librarian.
In addition to the executive offices, lawyers are also voting to fill 11 seats on the association’s Managing Committee.
The KBA elections had been delayed multiple times over the past seven months, making this year’s polling a closely watched event within Karachi’s legal community.
