The federal government has increased the price of jet fuel, a day after announcing a significant rise in petrol and high-speed diesel prices. The latest revision comes amid growing pressure from higher international oil prices, affecting multiple petroleum products.
According to the latest pricing decision, the price of jet fuel has been raised by Rs13.23 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs251.02 per litre. The revised price is now effective and will apply under the updated petroleum pricing mechanism.
Officials said the increase was driven by a sudden surge in global crude oil prices, which has pushed up the cost of refined petroleum products. The adjustment reflects the government’s effort to align domestic fuel prices with international market trends.
The latest increase follows the government’s recent revision of petrol and diesel prices for the upcoming pricing period. Under the new notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, the revised fuel prices came into effect on July 11, 2026.
Petrol has been increased by Rs13.18 per litre, raising its price from Rs297.53 to Rs310.71 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has gone up by Rs13.80 per litre, moving from Rs309.50 to Rs323.30 per litre.
The latest adjustments are expected to increase operating costs in sectors that rely heavily on fuel, particularly aviation and transportation. Airlines may face higher fuel expenses as jet fuel is one of the largest components of operational costs, while transporters are also likely to feel the impact of the diesel price increase.
Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed periodically in line with fluctuations in the international oil market and changes in import costs. The latest revision highlights the continued impact of global energy price movements on the domestic economy, with consumers and businesses expected to monitor further developments in the coming weeks.
