Kartik Aaryan to star in Vivek Agnihotri’s Operation Sindoor

Kartik Aaryan is set to take on a significant new project as his career enters an exciting phase following his first National Award win. The Bollywood actor has reportedly been selected to play the lead role in filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film, Operation Sindoor, marking an important development in his professional journey.

The 35-year-old actor has established himself as one of Bollywood’s prominent performers through his work in several commercially successful films. His latest achievement has further strengthened his position in the industry, with his performance in Chandu Champion earning him his first National Award. Now, he is preparing to explore another challenging role in a film inspired by real events.

Kartik Aaryan joins Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor was officially announced in March, although the makers had not revealed the name of the actor who would portray the lead character at the time. Kartik’s reported casting has now brought fresh attention to the project, which is expected to focus on a significant military operation involving India.

Vivek Agnihotri, known for making films based on real-life events and controversial subjects, is directing the upcoming project. The filmmaker intends to bring a researched account of the operation to the big screen, combining historical events with cinematic storytelling.

The film will be based on Lieutenant General K. J. S. ‘Tiny’ Dhillon’s book, The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan. The book provides the foundation for the film’s narrative, which is expected to explore the events surrounding the operation and its wider implications for regional security.

According to the filmmaker, the operation represented a significant moment that reshaped security considerations across the Indian subcontinent. The project aims to examine the events through research and accounts connected to the military.

Film draws inspiration from real events

The story of Operation Sindoor is rooted in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. The film is being developed with extensive research, with the makers highlighting their collaboration with different branches of the Indian Armed Forces.

Vivek has emphasised that the project is intended to present a fact-based account of the events that inspired it. Rather than relying solely on dramatic elements, the filmmaker wants the narrative to reflect the research and information gathered during the development process.

The director has also explained that the film seeks to address a significant chapter in recent history through cinema. By drawing on real events and military research, the project is expected to explore the operation’s background and the circumstances surrounding it.

Although further details about the film’s production and supporting cast have yet to be revealed, Kartik’s involvement has added to the anticipation surrounding the project.

Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming projects

At present, Kartik is busy filming Captain India, which is directed by Shimit Amin. The actor is expected to complete his commitments to the film before beginning work on Operation Sindoor.

Taking on the new project could provide Kartik with another opportunity to demonstrate his versatility as a performer. The actor has previously explored different genres, and his role in the upcoming military-based film may introduce him to another demanding cinematic experience.

His reported casting also comes shortly after his National Award victory for Chandu Champion, a film that received attention for his performance and physical transformation. The recognition represents a major milestone in his career and adds to the interest surrounding his future choices.

With Captain India currently in production and Operation Sindoor lined up next, Kartik appears ready to continue exploring diverse roles. Audiences will now be watching for further announcements about the upcoming film, including its release date, additional cast members and production schedule.
