Britain’s King Charles III quoted a hadith attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in Arabic during a state banquet for Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Windsor Castle, praising the people of Oman.
The banquet was held on October 20 as part of the sultan’s state visit to the United Kingdom, the first state visit by an Omani sultan since 1982. King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the event.
“If you were to come to the people of Oman, they would have neither reviled you nor beaten you,” the hadith says, according to an English translation reported by media outlets. The saying is recorded in Sahih Muslim.
