Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to present a full-year budget for the fiscal year 2026–27. The decision has now been finalised after internal consultations within the provincial setup.
PTI KP spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai confirmed the development in a statement issued from Peshawar. He said the provincial government has dropped the idea of a three-month budget and will now present an annual financial plan.
He explained that the Chief Minister had initially considered presenting a short-term budget due to the non-availability of a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan. However, legal and administrative complications made this option difficult to proceed with.
He said that a three-month budget could have created financial and planning issues for the province. According to him, such a move might have affected development planning and fiscal stability.
