Krystle D’Souza earns Karan Johar’s praise on Traitors 2

Krystle D’Souza has managed to make a strong impression on The Traitors Season 2 without becoming the most vocal or attention-seeking player in the room. Her low-key approach has allowed her to make important moves while keeping suspicion away from herself, and her strategy has now caught the attention of host Karan Johar.

During the latest episode, Karan praised Krystle for the way she has handled the game, telling her that she had played a “very, very smart game.” His observation highlighted one of the most noticeable aspects of her journey so far: Krystle has managed to influence the game without making herself appear overly involved.

Rather than trying to control every discussion, Krystle has largely remained observant. She has watched how conversations develop, paid attention to where suspicion is moving and carefully chosen the moments when she needs to speak. Her ability to remain composed has helped her avoid becoming an obvious target.

For a Traitor, maintaining that balance is crucial. The player has to secretly work against the Innocents while simultaneously convincing everyone that they can be trusted. Any unnecessary move can attract attention, while staying completely silent can also make a player suspicious. Krystle appears to have found a middle ground between the two.

One of the clearest examples came during the “Circle of Shaq,” when suspicion began moving toward her close friend Rhea Chakraborty. Instead of immediately stepping forward to defend Rhea or change the direction of the discussion, Krystle allowed the attention to remain elsewhere. Her decision helped ensure that she did not unnecessarily place herself at the centre of the conversation.

However, Krystle’s position changed significantly after fellow Traitor Shahneel Gill was identified and eliminated by the Innocents. With Shahneel out of the game, Krystle was left as the sole Traitor and was given the opportunity to recruit another player.

She made a particularly strategic choice by approaching Rida Tharana. Rida had been actively trying to identify the Traitors, which could have made her a potential threat. By bringing her into the Traitors’ side, Krystle effectively turned someone who could have worked against her into an ally. The move demonstrated how quickly she was able to adapt when the dynamics of the game changed.

Meanwhile, another emotional conversation from the episode involved Mallika Sherawat and Shahneel before Shahneel’s elimination.

Mallika recalled having a heart-to-heart conversation with Shahneel and explained that she had become emotionally attached to her. She said she had jokingly told Shahneel that if she eventually turned out to be a Traitor, it would break her heart because she had started considering her like a sister.

According to Mallika, Shahneel denied being a Traitor and even gave her a reason for why she believed she could not be one, referring to her brother’s connection with cricket.

Mallika also revealed that she had spoken to Shahneel about her suspicions surrounding Rhea. She admitted that Rhea’s repeated arguments and tendency to return to the same points had made her question whether Rhea was hiding something.

Shahneel, however, reportedly offered a different interpretation. She suggested that Rhea might actually be trying to repair her public image because many people already viewed her as a potential Traitor.

The episode therefore showcased two very different approaches to the game. While Mallika and others continued to openly discuss their suspicions, Krystle maintained her quieter strategy, carefully observing the players around her and making calculated decisions when necessary. With the game becoming increasingly unpredictable, her ability to remain under the radar could prove crucial in the episodes ahead.
