According to Rescue 1122, the tourist had drowned at Kala Chashma, a popular spot in Kumrat, located in Lower Dir district. Following the incident, specialized water rescue teams from Rescue 1122 Lower Dir and Rescue 1122 Upper Dir launched a joint search operation.

Despite facing strong river currents, deep water, and difficult terrain, trained divers continued the search for three consecutive days before successfully recovering the victim’s body. Rescue officials said the body was handed over to the local police after completing the required legal formalities.

Rescue authorities praised the dedication of the emergency teams, who remained engaged in the challenging operation despite hazardous conditions. Officials also urged tourists to avoid entering rivers and streams at unsafe locations, particularly during periods of high water flow.

In a separate incident in the Fizagat area of Swat, a father and his 11-year-old son were swept away while bathing in the Swat River. Local residents acted quickly and managed to rescue the child safely before rescue teams arrived at the scene.

However, the child’s father remains missing, and Rescue 1122 has launched a search operation to locate him. Water rescue personnel are using boats and trained divers to search the river, while officials say the operation will continue until the missing man is found.

According to rescue officials, the father and son belong to Buner district and had visited the area for recreation. The incident has once again highlighted the dangers associated with bathing in fast-flowing rivers during the tourist season.

Rescue 1122 has appealed to visitors and local residents to strictly follow safety guidelines while visiting rivers, lakes, and other water bodies. Authorities have advised families to keep children away from deep water, avoid swimming in unguarded areas, and pay attention to warning signs installed at tourist destinations.

Officials continue to emphasize that observing basic safety precautions can help prevent such tragic incidents and save lives.
