Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the provincial government’s electro-bus project has become one of the most popular public transport initiatives, receiving an overwhelming response from commuters within just two and a half years of its launch.

She said the project has transformed urban transportation by providing citizens with a modern, comfortable, and environmentally friendly travel option. According to the chief minister, the growing number of passengers reflects the public’s confidence in the service and its positive impact on daily commuting.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that students, women, and senior citizens are benefiting from 100% free travel on the air-conditioned electric buses. She said the initiative was introduced to ease the financial burden on families while ensuring safe, affordable, and dignified transportation for vulnerable segments of society.

She added that the electric bus fleet not only offers a comfortable travel experience but also supports the government’s efforts to reduce air pollution and promote clean energy. The chief minister reiterated that expanding modern public transport remains a priority for the Punjab government.
