Maryam’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar ties the knot with Azan Jabbar

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, has married Azan Jabbar, son of prominent industrialist Jabbar Khalid, in an intimate nikkah ceremony at the Sharif family’s Jati Umrah residence.

The wedding ceremony is being attended by close members of the Sharif and Khalid families, along with a limited number of relatives and family friends.

Azan Jabbar’s father, Jabbar Khalid, is associated with Pakistan’s flour-milling industry and is known for his business interests.

The wedding also brought Nawaz Sharif back to Lahore after he postponed his planned trip to London. According to family sources, the PML-N supremo had recently returned from Singapore and delayed his next journey to be present for his granddaughter’s wedding.

The ceremony follows Maryam Nawaz’s recent visit to London, where she attended Mahnoor’s graduation ceremony. The Punjab chief minister returned to Lahore on Wednesday.

Mahnoor Safdar has generally maintained a low public profile and has stayed away from political and media activities despite being part of the Sharif family.

The family has so far not shared details about a formal reception or other wedding celebrations.

Mahnoor’s elder brother, Junaid Safdar, previously married Shanzeh Ali Rohale, granddaughter of former lawmaker Shaikh Rohale Asghar, in January. His wedding celebrations included a green-themed mehndi, a baraat ceremony and an outdoor valima held at the Jati Umrah estate.
