Meghan Markle celebrates 45th birthday with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle gave fans a glimpse into her 45th birthday celebration by sharing a series of cheerful and lighthearted moments spent at home with Prince Harry. Through a collection of Instagram Stories posted on Tuesday, August 4, the Duchess of Sussex showcased an intimate family celebration filled with laughter, dancing, and special moments with their beloved dogs.

The birthday posts began with a striking black-and-white photograph of Markle jumping into a swimming pool while holding a bundle of balloons. Accompanying the image, she expressed gratitude to her followers for their warm wishes, writing, “Thank you for the birthday love.”

Markle also shared a playful video of herself dancing around the kitchen as the traditional “Happy Birthday” song played in the background. While food simmered on the stove, Prince Harry could be heard reacting humorously to his wife’s energetic dance moves, saying, “Oh, dear,” prompting Markle to burst into laughter.

For the relaxed celebration, Markle opted for a casual outfit consisting of a white T-shirt featuring the phrase “It’s Giving Mrs.” paired with comfortable white lounge pants. She completed the festive look with a colorful birthday headband, embracing the joyful atmosphere of the occasion.

The couple’s two dogs, black Labrador Pula and beagle Mia, were also included in the birthday festivities. In one of the clips, Harry and Markle attempted to dress the dogs in tiny birthday party hats for a family photo. Harry could be heard patiently instructing the pets to “sit” and “stay” as they tried to capture the perfect moment.

Markle’s birthday carries an additional historical connection within the royal family. She shares her birthday with Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, the late great-grandmother of Prince Harry, who was born on August 4, 1900.

Prince Harry previously reflected on this shared birthday in his 2023 memoir Spare. He recalled discovering the coincidence during a visit with his father, King Charles, at Balmoral in Scotland. According to Harry, the revelation strengthened the already warm relationship between Meghan and his father.

Harry wrote that the family was enjoying pre-dinner drinks while music from legendary entertainer Fred Astaire played in the background when it emerged that Meghan shared the same birthday as King Charles’ beloved grandmother, affectionately known within the family as “Gan-Gan.”

The Duke recounted that King Charles reacted warmly upon learning the connection, smiling and describing the coincidence as “amazing.”
