NAB Lahore, LCCI launch business facilitation office

Lahore – In a significant step towards strengthening institutional support for Pakistan’s business community, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) have accelerated implementation of their landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by operationalizing the NAB Executive Facilitation Office through a high-level consultative meeting.

The session, held at the Executive Facilitation Office established at LCCI following its inauguration by Chairman NAB Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Nazir Ahmed, focused on finalizing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the Office serves as an effective institutional platform for addressing genuine business concerns within NAB’s legal mandate.

The NAB delegation was led by Director NAB Lahore Nasim Ahmad Khan, while the business community was represented by LCCI President Fahim ur Rehman Saigal. Participants held extensive discussions on regulatory and governance challenges affecting the business environment, particularly issues related to the real estate sector, housing and development projects, public procurement, regulatory procedures and delays in approvals.

During the meeting, NAB Lahore received a number of applications from members of the business community, particularly relating to real estate matters. It was agreed that genuine grievances would be examined in accordance with law and processed through the Executive Facilitation Office with prompt institutional coordination.

Addressing the participants, Director NAB Lahore Nasim Ahmad Khan said that under the leadership of Chairman NAB and the guidance of Director General NAB Lahore Mirza Faran Baig, the Bureau is pursuing a facilitation-oriented approach that complements accountability through prevention, institutional coordination and constructive stakeholder engagement.

He said the Executive Facilitation Office provides businesses with a dedicated institutional platform to raise legitimate concerns and identify systemic bottlenecks requiring coordinated resolution.

The meeting also reviewed proposals aimed at improving regulatory efficiency, reducing procedural delays and promoting transparency in sectors critical to commercial activity. While, affirming their commitment to the MoU, NAB Lahore and LCCI agreed to continue regular consultations to support governance reforms, strengthen investor confidence and promote a more transparent and business-friendly economic environment.
