Model and content creator Nara Smith has shared an emotional account of her family’s difficult year, revealing that her young daughter was diagnosed with cancer last year. In a heartfelt Instagram Reel, Smith opened up about the challenges she faced while balancing motherhood, work and her daughter’s treatment, explaining why she had been less active on social media.

Smith has built a large following on TikTok and Instagram by sharing cooking, lifestyle and family videos, many of which feature meals prepared from scratch and moments from her daily life with husband Lucky Blue Smith and their children.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Whimsy Lou, in April 2024. In her recent video, Smith reflected on the months following her daughter’s diagnosis, describing them as some of the most demanding of her life. Alongside spending long hours at the hospital, she was also recovering postpartum, caring for her other children and trying to keep up with work commitments.

Reflecting on the experience, Smith said managing her professional responsibilities while supporting her family through the medical journey was incredibly challenging. She acknowledged that the past year had tested her emotionally and physically but also highlighted the strength she found through the support of loved ones and healthcare professionals.

A central part of Smith’s message was dedicated to thanking the doctors, nurses and hospital staff who cared for her daughter throughout her treatment. She praised their compassion, dedication and expertise, saying their care helped guide her family through one of the most difficult chapters of their lives.
