The series, which has not yet been given a title, will explore the love story of the character played by Ruth Gemmell in the main series and the father of her eight children.

Netflix has not announced the cast or a release date for the spin-off. Gemmell plays the older Violet in the main series, while Connie Jenkins-Greig portrayed a younger version of the character in the 2023 spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

Shonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini will write, serve as showrunners and executive-produce the new series. Tom Verica will direct and executive-produce, while Betsy Beers will also serve as an executive producer.

The new project follows Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, released in 2023, which explored the young queen’s romance with King George III.

The main Bridgerton series is also moving ahead with its fifth season, which is in production in London. The season will focus on Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd, and Michaela Stirling, played by Masali Baduza.

Netflix said the fourth season debuted at No. 1 on its Global English TV list.
