Non-CPEC projects without bulletproof vehicles for Chinese workers will be closed

The Punjab Home Department has ordered that all non-CPEC projects must provide bulletproof vehicles for Chinese workers within two days or face closure.

This decision, designed to protect Chinese nationals amid rising security concerns, shows the Punjab government’s strong commitment to ensuring the safety of foreign workers involved in various projects across the province.

Reports indicate that the Punjab Home Department sent a letter to the DIG Special Protection Unit, emphasizing the need for strict security measures for non-CPEC projects.

The directive clearly states that any project not providing bulletproof vehicles within the given timeframe will be shut down temporarily.

The Home Department has asked project managers to either buy or rent bulletproof vehicles to meet the security requirements. A two-day deadline has been given to private and public non-CPEC projects to comply with this directive, officials said.

Officials also mentioned that security concerns regarding Chinese nationals have come up before, leading to increased vigilance and additional safety measures.
