Authorities from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have arrested more than 100 people in Taftan over the past week for allegedly attempting to enter Iran through illegal routes.

According to FIA officials, the detained individuals belong to different areas of Punjab. Investigators say they were allegedly trying to cross into Iran as part of an attempt to reach European countries through irregular migration routes.

The arrests form part of a wider crackdown on illegal migration and human trafficking networks operating along the Pakistan-Iran border. FIA officials said authorities have intensified monitoring and enforcement efforts in Taftan to prevent people from using unauthorized routes to leave the country.

The FIA further revealed that authorities have arrested a total of 4,474 people over the past three months for allegedly attempting to travel to Iran through illegal channels.

Officials said investigators are questioning the arrested individuals to determine how they planned their journeys and identify the people who facilitated their movement. The agency is also continuing action against groups and networks suspected of involvement in human trafficking and the illegal movement of people.

The FIA has warned citizens against falling into the hands of human smugglers, who often promise safe passage to Europe but expose migrants to serious risks during their journeys.
