The body of a lawyer was found inside a parked car at the Judicial Complex in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Police said the incident was reported to the Civil Lines police at around 9:30am after a moharir working at the Judicial Complex discovered the body and alerted authorities.
The deceased was identified as Advocate Sanaullah Satti.
Following the report, police teams reached the parking area and secured the scene. A team from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) was also called in to collect evidence and examine the vehicle and surrounding area.
Rawalpindi Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Tariq Mehboob said the exact cause of death could not yet be determined. He said investigators would establish the circumstances after receiving the forensic examination report.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the lawyer died from natural causes, an accident or any criminal act. Investigators are examining the available evidence as part of the inquiry.
The discovery of the body at a judicial complex has raised concerns among members of the legal community, although officials have not disclosed any further details about the case.
The incident comes months after another lawyer’s body was discovered in a deserted area of Islamabad. In January, police found a lawyer’s body in the H-9 area with a gunshot wound to the back. At the time, authorities suspected that the man had been murdered.
