The funeral prayers for Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Group Captain Asim Tariq Shaheed were offered with full military honors, as colleagues, senior officials, and loved ones gathered to pay tribute to his extraordinary courage and selfless service.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, attended the funeral and honored the fallen officer’s remarkable sacrifice.

Speaking on the occasion, the Air Chief said that Group Captain Asim Tariq gave his life while trying to save an innocent civilian. He added that the officer’s bravery reflected the highest traditions of the Pakistan Air Force and the country’s armed forces. His sacrifice, the Air Chief noted, will continue to inspire future generations of service members to uphold their duty with courage, honor, and dedication.

Group Captain Asim Tariq lost his life during a tragic incident on Islamabad’s Ninth Avenue, where he stepped forward to rescue a woman in danger. His final act of courage demonstrated exceptional selflessness and devotion to protecting others, even at the cost of his own life.
