According to documents released by the Petroleum Division, the government has cut the petroleum levy on petrol by Rs9.84 per litre. As a result, the levy on petrol has fallen from Rs116.08 per litre to Rs106.24 per litre.
At the same time, authorities have raised the levy on high-speed diesel by Rs8.67 per litre. The levy on diesel now stands at Rs53.26 per litre, up from the previous Rs44.59 per litre.
The Petroleum Division also confirmed that the levy on kerosene oil remains unchanged at Rs20.36 per litre.
The latest adjustment reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to manage fuel taxation and revenue collection while balancing energy-related fiscal policies. The revised levy rates took effect immediately and will apply to petroleum products sold across the country.
