Pakistan becomes F-Class shooting World Champion at Bisley 2026

Pakistan has emerged as a formidable force in international F-Class shooting, achieving an unprecedented level of success at the 7th F-Class Shooting World Championship 2026, held at Bisley, United Kingdom. In a remarkable journey spanning just three years since Pakistan’s F-Class campaign began in 2023, the country has progressed from establishing an emerging presence on the international stage to producing a World Champion, a World Championship silver medal-winning team and an impressive haul of individual medals against the world’s finest shooters.

The 7th F-Class World Championship brought together 207 elite shooters from 24 countries at the historic Bisley range. Pakistan’s outstanding campaign was led by Lt Col Junaid Ali, who was crowned the FTR Individual World Champion after producing the highest aggregate score across the 800, 900 and 1000-yard distances. His historic victory represents a landmark achievement for Pakistan and is a testament to his exceptional consistency, precision, technical mastery, wind-reading ability and composure under pressure. Maintaining world-class performance across all three distances, Junaid Ali ultimately emerged at the top of one of the most competitive fields in international FTR shooting.

Pakistan’s success extended beyond the individual championship, with Team Pakistan securing the Silver Medal in the prestigious FTR World Championship Team Event. Competing against teams from 11 countries, including some of the most accomplished FTR nations and former World and European champions, Pakistan demonstrated remarkable collective strength and competitive maturity. The result is particularly significant considering that the country has only around three years of international competitive experience in F-Class shooting.

Pakistan’s exceptional performance was further highlighted by a remarkable haul of 13 individual medals at the World Championship, comprising four Gold, four Silver and five Bronze medals across the 800, 900 and 1000-yard matches. Lt Col Junaid Ali led the medal charge with three Gold, one Silver and one Bronze, culminating in his crowning as the FTR Individual World Champion on aggregate. Sepoy Muhammad Waleed secured one Gold and one Bronze, including the historic 900-yard Gold, marking Pakistan’s first-ever World Championship medal and Gold in the discipline.

Pakistan’s emerging young talent also made a strong impression at the championship. In the Under-25 category, Huzaifa Waleed Gill secured three Silver and two Bronze medals, including the Under-25 Aggregate Bronze, while Ahsan Gill added another Bronze medal. Their performances underline the growing depth of talent within Pakistan’s F-Class shooting programme and indicate that the country’s recent success is not limited to a single generation of shooters.

The strength and consistency of the Pakistani contingent was further reflected in the world rankings, with seven Pakistani shooters finishing among the World’s Top 100. Lt Col Junaid Ali emerged as World No. 1 and FTR World Champion, while Sepoy Muhammad Waleed achieved an outstanding World No. 6 ranking, placing him firmly among the world’s top ten. Obaid Ibrahim, Qasim Shoaib, Huzaifa Waleed Gill, Junaid Waqas and Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez also secured positions among the World’s Top 100, further demonstrating the depth and competitive standard of Pakistan’s FTR shooting team.

The World Championship success was preceded by an equally impressive performance at the F-Class British Open 2026, also held at Bisley from August 3 to 8. Team Pakistan captured an outstanding 13 individual medals at the British Open, including seven Gold, two Silver and four Bronze. The remarkable performance provided strong momentum ahead of the World Championship and established Pakistan as one of the leading competitive forces at Bisley.

Pakistan’s Bisley campaign in 2026 therefore represents a historic milestone for the country’s F-Class shooting programme. From the British Open success to the World Championship title, team silver, 13 individual World Championship medals and seven Pakistani shooters among the world’s top 100, the achievements reflect an extraordinary rise in skill, experience, competitive depth and international standing within just three years.
