A prestigious reception was held at the Municipal Council of Crai, a suburb of Paris, in honour of Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, reaffirming the commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and France.

Mayor Omar Yaqoob, members of the municipal team and office-bearers of the Pakistan Business Forum France warmly welcomed Ambassador Baloch and her delegation. During the ceremony, the ambassador was presented with a commemorative shield in recognition of her visit.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Omar Yaqoob said he was the first mayor of Pakistani origin to break a century-old political tradition by winning the office. He pledged to play an active role in promoting cultural, commercial and social ties between Pakistan and France.

Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch congratulated Mayor Yaqoob on his historic achievement, saying that public service, integrity and principled leadership are the foundations of lasting success. She noted that relations between Pakistan and France continue to grow stronger and could be further expanded through sister-city partnerships, cultural exchanges, increased trade, economic cooperation and collaboration in the agricultural sector.

The event was attended by local political, business and community leaders, as well as members of the Pakistani diaspora in France, who expressed their commitment to strengthening people-to-people contacts and enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.

The ceremony concluded with a luncheon hosted by the Pakistan Business Forum France in honour of Ambassador Baloch and other distinguished guests, providing an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
