ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced another increase in petroleum prices pushing petrol and high-speed diesel prices higher from September 11, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the latest price revision was made after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) reviewed petroleum prices under the pricing mechanism approved by the federal government.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs5.37 per litre taking the new price to Rs398.04 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of petrol has gone up by Rs3.05 per litre. Following the increase, petrol will now cost Rs370.80 per litre.

The new prices will come into effect from September 11, 2026 according to the official notification.

Before the latest revision, the government had set the price of petrol at Rs 367.75 per litre while high-speed diesel was being sold at Rs 392.67 per litre.

The latest increase continues the recent upward trend in petroleum prices, adding further pressure on consumers and businesses that depend heavily on fuel for transportation and daily operations.

Higher petrol and diesel prices can also affect the cost of transportation and logistics, potentially putting additional pressure on the prices of goods and services.

The government revises petroleum prices periodically in accordance with the applicable pricing mechanism, with changes influenced by factors including international oil prices and other relevant costs.

Consumers will therefore face the revised petrol and diesel rates from September 11 as the latest increase takes effect across the country.
