Pakistan offers Bangladesh cooperation on legal reforms

Pakistan has offered to share its experience and expertise with Bangladesh in legal reforms and the digitalisation of the justice system.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered to share its experience and expertise with Bangladesh in legal reforms and the digitalisation of the justice system.

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar made the offer during a meeting with Bangladesh High Commissioner Mohammad Iqbal Hussain Khan in Islamabad on Monday.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the legal and judicial sectors.

During the meeting, Tarar said Pakistan was ready to share its experience and technical expertise with Bangladesh in the field of legal reforms.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to modernise the justice system through digitalisation. He said cooperation in this area could help both countries improve the efficiency and accessibility of legal and judicial services.

The meeting also covered the development of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration and mediation.

The officials exchanged views on ways to strengthen institutional cooperation and share knowledge and best practices in the legal sector.

Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.

The meeting reflects efforts by Pakistan and Bangladesh to expand bilateral engagement beyond traditional areas of cooperation. Legal and judicial collaboration could provide an additional avenue for strengthening institutional ties between the two countries.

Both sides expressed interest in further cooperation and the exchange of expertise in areas related to legal reforms, justice sector development and dispute resolution.
