Pakistan releases special song celebrating Türkiye friendship on Victory Day

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has marked Türkiye’s 104th Victory Day with a special musical tribute celebrating the close friendship and shared cultural ties between the two brotherly countries.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released the special song “Do Dil, Ek Jaan” (Two Hearts, One Soul) to commemorate the occasion, bringing together Urdu and Turkish lyrics in a vibrant celebration of Pakistan-Türkiye relations.

Performed entirely by Pakistani artists, the song highlights the historical bond, mutual affection and shared values that have long connected the people of the two countries.

The musical composition was prepared by Ali Mustafa, while the arrangement and composition were developed by Kamranullah Khan and Samia Gohar. Vocal performances were provided by Usman Rais and Dr Mubashira Hafeez, who bring both Urdu and Turkish elements together in the song.

One of the most distinctive features of “Do Dil, Ek Jaan” is its fusion of languages and traditional musical sounds. Rather than simply presenting a conventional patriotic song, the production blends Pakistani and Turkish musical traditions to create a soundscape reflecting the countries’ cultural closeness.

The melody incorporates the rubab, a traditional Pakistani string instrument, alongside Türkiye’s bağlama and darbuka. The combination gives the track a distinctive cross-cultural character while reinforcing its central message of friendship.

The song’s bilingual presentation also seeks to make the message of solidarity resonate with audiences in both countries. Its lyrics and musical arrangement celebrate brotherhood, love, cultural similarities and the values shared by Pakistan and Türkiye.

Pakistan and Türkiye have maintained close diplomatic and people-to-people relations for decades, frequently describing their ties as those between two brotherly nations. Cultural exchanges, official visits and cooperation in various fields have continued to strengthen those relations.

Türkiye’s Victory Day is observed annually on August 30, commemorating the decisive victory in the Turkish War of Independence in 1922. The 2026 celebrations mark the 104th anniversary of the historic victory.

Against this backdrop, the release of “Do Dil, Ek Jaan” adds a cultural dimension to the celebrations, using music to highlight the emotional connection between the two nations.

With its blend of Urdu and Turkish, Pakistani voices and traditional instruments from both cultures, the song presents a musical message that is simple yet powerful: despite the distance between them, Pakistan and Türkiye continue to share a deep sense of friendship, brotherhood and mutual respect.
