The Foreign Office delivered a strong diplomatic protest over the incident and expressed serious concerns over the alleged involvement of Afghan nationals in the attack.

Officials said one of the attackers, who was captured alive during the operation, was identified as an Afghan citizen. Pakistani authorities stated that this development strengthened their concerns about the use of Afghan territory by militant groups targeting Pakistan.

According to the Foreign Office, a similar diplomatic message was also conveyed by Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul to Afghan authorities.

The attack took place on Saturday when militants launched an assault on a Rangers facility in Karachi. The attackers first detonated explosives near the main entrance before attempting to enter the camp.

Security personnel responded immediately and prevented the attackers from breaching the compound’s defenses. A fierce exchange of fire followed inside the perimeter area.

During the operation, three Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom while four others suffered injuries.

Security forces killed three attackers during the confrontation and arrested another suspect in an injured condition.

Pakistani authorities alleged that the attackers belonged to a militant network operating against Pakistan and claimed the group had links across the border.

The government stated that the Karachi attack once again highlighted concerns regarding cross-border terrorism and the presence of militant infrastructure outside Pakistan.

Officials reiterated their demand for effective action against individuals and groups involved in planning or facilitating attacks on Pakistani soil.

The latest diplomatic move comes weeks after another protest was lodged following a deadly attack on a police checkpoint in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In that incident, militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a security post, causing a massive explosion that resulted in the martyrdom of 15 police personnel and injuries to several others.

Following investigations, Pakistani authorities claimed that evidence and technical intelligence suggested the attack had been planned by militants based in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly called on Afghan authorities to prevent their territory from being used by armed groups involved in violence inside Pakistan.

Relations between the two neighboring countries have faced growing strain in recent months due to security incidents and border tensions.

Islamabad maintains that militant sanctuaries across the border remain a major security challenge, while Kabul has repeatedly rejected the allegations and denied providing support to armed groups.
