Pakistan will end foreign-sponsored terrorism at any cost, says PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from its soil, declaring that the country will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.

Addressing a passing-out parade of the Pakistan Navy in Karachi, the prime minister congratulated the graduating cadets and welcomed the participation of trainees from friendly countries, describing their presence as a reflection of Pakistan’s growing defense and diplomatic ties.

Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the Pakistan Navy for its professionalism and contributions to national defense, saying the force has repeatedly demonstrated courage and excellence during challenging times. He noted that the Navy’s role in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests and national security has earned widespread respect.

The prime minister also highlighted recent diplomatic developments in the region, describing the signing of the Islamabad agreement between Iran and the United States as a significant achievement. He said Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic engagement helped create an environment conducive to dialogue and peace.

Sharif praised the efforts of Field Marshal and Army Chief Asim Munir, crediting his leadership and commitment to regional stability and peace-building initiatives.

Referring to the evolving geopolitical landscape, the prime minister said major developments in the region are expected to have long-term consequences. He alleged that hostile elements continue to rely on proxies and external support to undermine Pakistan’s security but emphasized that the country remains fully determined to defeat terrorism in all its forms.

“Pakistan is committed to eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism at any cost,” he said, stressing that the armed forces and national institutions are united in protecting the nation from security threats.

The prime minister also welcomed the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, describing it as a clear sign of the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran. According to Sharif, the visit also reflected growing international recognition of Pakistan’s strategic and regional importance.

Reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding foreign policy positions, the premier said the country remains a strong advocate for global peace and dialogue. He emphasized that Pakistan will continue to support the rights of people in Kashmir and Palestine and raise their concerns on international platforms.

Concluding his address, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan’s future lies in unity, peace, and regional cooperation, adding that the nation will continue to pursue stability while strengthening its defense capabilities and diplomatic partnerships.
