Pakistani-origin education leader Dr Muhammad Zohaib Tariq, founder and Chief Executive Officer of the UK-based Learning Resource Network (LRN), has described his organisation’s achievement of The King’s Award for Enterprise 2026 as an honour for every overseas Pakistani.
LRN received the prestigious royal award for International Trade, recognising its international growth and contribution to promoting British education and qualifications around the world.
Speaking after the achievement, Dr Tariq said the recognition was not just a milestone for his organisation but a moment of pride for Pakistanis living across the world.
He said he was ready to contribute to Pakistan’s development, particularly in education, by sharing his international experience, expertise and global professional network.
Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Dr Tariq founded LRN in 2011 and has led its expansion into international education markets.
According to the organisation, LRN has supported more than 1.2 million learners across 58 countries through its network of approved educational centres and qualifications.
The organisation’s latest royal recognition marks its second such honour in six years. LRN previously received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2020.
Dr Tariq also attended a reception at St James’s Palace hosted by His Majesty King Charles III to celebrate recipients of The King’s Award for Enterprise 2026. During the reception, he had an opportunity to discuss LRN’s international education work with representatives of the Royal Household.
The King’s Award for Enterprise is one of the United Kingdom’s highest business honours, recognising outstanding achievements in international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.
Dr Tariq said he hoped to use LRN’s international experience and partnerships to help strengthen Pakistan’s education sector and create better opportunities for young people.
