PESHAWAR: The lawyer representing the mother of proclaimed offender Mumtaz has sought permission from the Peshawar High Court to submit videos, audio recordings, and documents before the court in connection with a petition concerning the alleged killing of her son.

A two-member bench comprising **Justice Arshad Ali and Justice Babar Sattar** heard the petition filed by the mother of the proclaimed offender. The case relates to allegations surrounding the arrest and subsequent death of Mumtaz, who had been declared a proclaimed offender.

During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner told the court that Mumtaz’s mother had approached the high court seeking protection for her son. According to the lawyer, Mumtaz was arrested through **Interpol** and brought to Peshawar after being taken into custody.

The counsel further alleged that after being brought to Peshawar, Mumtaz was killed in what police described as an encounter. The petitioner’s counsel also referred to the previous hearing of the case. He told the court that during the last hearing, the high court had issued directions for providing protection to Mumtaz. During the proceedings, the **Additional Advocate General** presented the government’s position before the court. He informed the bench that a First Information Report (FIR) had been registered in connection with the incident.
