ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for the kingdom’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
Yemen’s Houthi group, Ansarullah, carried out attacks targeting several Saudi cities. Abha, Khamis Mushait, Najran and Jazan were among the areas affected.
According to the details, the attacks targeted civilian and economic installations. At least 73 people were injured in the strikes. Women and children were also among those wounded.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said such attacks were deeply concerning. He said attacks on civilian areas posed a serious threat to innocent lives.
He also warned that such incidents could further undermine peace and security in the region. The prime minister stressed the need to protect civilians and prevent further escalation of tensions.
Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and security. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the kingdom’s territorial integrity.
The prime minister expressed solidarity with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people.
He said Pakistan stood with Saudi Arabia during the difficult situation. He also conveyed his best wishes for the safety and well-being of the Saudi people.
