Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday directed all ministries and relevant departments to ensure that development projects of national importance are completed within the approved timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Chairing a meeting with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, the prime minister reviewed the progress of major development initiatives being carried out across the country under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

During the meeting, officials discussed the implementation status of ongoing projects, challenges affecting progress and future strategies to ensure timely execution. The planning minister briefed the prime minister on the pace of work on various schemes and outlined the government’s roadmap for accelerating national development.

The prime minister emphasised that the successful and timely completion of development projects remains one of the government’s top priorities. He said infrastructure and development initiatives play a vital role in improving public services, generating employment opportunities and supporting long-term economic growth.

Shehbaz Sharif instructed all concerned ministries, departments and implementing agencies to strengthen coordination and work closely together to remove obstacles delaying projects. He stressed that improved cooperation among institutions would help speed up implementation and ensure that the public benefits from development initiatives without unnecessary delays.

The meeting also reviewed broader national development goals and discussed future growth targets aimed at strengthening the country’s economy and improving living standards.
