The prime minister made the remarks while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad focused on increasing Pakistan’s exports and accelerating the pace of economic development.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the need to prepare a wider range of Pakistani products and industries for international markets. He said that in addition to traditional export sectors, new sectors should also be developed and encouraged to compete in global markets.

The prime minister stressed that Pakistan needs to diversify its trade base by involving more sectors and industries in export activities. He also called for greater attention to value addition saying that improving the quality and value of Pakistani products could help the country strengthen its position in international markets.

Prime Minister Shehbaz further directed authorities to promote modern technology, research and innovation in export-oriented industries. He said that Pakistan’s economy must be aligned with modern global requirements and that digitalization and advanced technology should be used to improve productivity and competitiveness.

The prime minister also highlighted the need to address administrative and business-related hurdles faced by exporters. He directed relevant institutions to remove unnecessary obstacles and make the export process easier faster and more transparent.

According to the prime minister facilitating exporters is essential for creating a business environment that can encourage investment, increase production and expand Pakistan’s presence in international markets.

The government’s focus on export growth comes as Pakistan seeks to strengthen its economy by increasing foreign exchange earnings and expanding its access to global markets. Developing products that meet international quality standards could also help Pakistani businesses compete more effectively with manufacturers and suppliers from other countries.

The prime minister said that expanding exports should remain a central component of Pakistan’s economic strategy. He called for coordinated efforts to improve product quality encourage innovation and introduce more Pakistani industries to international buyers.

The meeting reflects the government’s broader emphasis on economic modernization trade diversification and improving the competitiveness of Pakistani businesses.
