The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently in the UK after spending six years in California, have been reminded not to let go of their roots, according to an expert.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers explained to The Sun: “They need to be associated with the British royal family to secure their commercial deals; otherwise, we wouldn’t be talking about them.

“We’ve been told for a long time that they want to be private citizens. We were told they wanted to go away, make their own way in the world, and do various things.”

He added: “Now that they have returned, if they want to take part in public life, that is completely contradictory to what was agreed at the Sandringham meeting back in 2020 when the late Queen was still alive. They must accept that.”

In 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working members of the Royal Family, along with their son, Prince Archie. The couple later said that their son had faced racism within the Royal Family and publicly shared their resentments on television.

While living in California, the couple also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
