PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan says dynastic politics has no place in the party

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan has reaffirmed the party’s stance against dynastic politics, saying that political positions should be earned through merit and commitment to the party’s ideology rather than through family connections.

In a statement, Ali Muhammad Khan said that PTI was founded on the principles of meritocracy and ideological politics, distinguishing itself from parties where political leadership is often passed down through family lines. He stressed that the party’s core philosophy leaves no room for hereditary politics.

“I have been a member of the National Assembly since 2013, and during this entire period I have never promoted or pushed any member of my family into politics,” he said.

The senior PTI leader said he had consistently followed the principles laid down by the party’s founder, maintaining that political representation should be based on public service, competence, and dedication rather than family background.

Ali Muhammad Khan recalled that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had repeatedly described PTI as an ideological political movement rather than a family-based political organization. According to him, the party was established to create a political culture where individuals rise through hard work, commitment, and the trust of the people.

“The founder of PTI has always maintained that this is an ideological party, and there is no place for dynastic politics within it,” Ali Muhammad Khan said.

He emphasized that PTI’s vision has always been to encourage capable individuals from all segments of society to participate in politics on an equal footing. According to him, political opportunities should remain open to those who demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to serving the public rather than those who benefit from inherited political influence.

Ali Muhammad Khan’s remarks come at a time when the issue of dynastic politics continues to generate debate in Pakistan. Several of the country’s major political parties have long faced criticism from opponents for promoting family members to key leadership positions, while supporters argue that experienced political families have also played an important role in Pakistan’s democratic process.

Without referring to any specific political party or individual, Ali Muhammad Khan reiterated that PTI’s identity is built around institutional politics rather than family-based leadership. He said that strengthening democratic values requires political parties to prioritize merit, transparency, and equal opportunities for all workers.

He also highlighted his own political career as an example of adherence to these principles, stating that despite serving multiple terms in parliament, he has never sought political positions for his relatives.

The PTI lawmaker said the party’s workers and supporters have always been encouraged to advance through dedication, public service, and organizational performance. He added that preserving these values remains essential for maintaining the party’s ideological foundation.

Ali Muhammad Khan concluded by reaffirming his commitment to PTI’s founding principles, saying the party’s future depends on continuing to reject hereditary politics and ensuring that leadership roles are filled on the basis of merit, capability, and commitment to the party’s vision.
