LAHORE: The Government of Punjab, through its Home Department, has transferred seven officers of the Punjab Prisons Department with immediate effect to facilitate their participation in a mandatory promotion course required for advancement from BS-17 to BS-18.

According to Notification No. SO(Prs)1-1/2025/104, dated September 9, 2026, issued by the Secretary Home Department, the officers have been directed to report to the Inspectorate of Prisons, Punjab, Lahore. They will attend the 42nd Public Sector Management and Governance Course being conducted by the Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD), Lahore.
The course forms part of the mandatory training requirements associated with promotion to BS-18. The latest administrative move will temporarily relieve the officers from their existing field and institutional assignments so they can complete the required professional training.

The transferred officers are Mr. Kashif Rasool Khalid, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), who is currently working as Superintendent, District Jail, Sialkot, under Section 9 of the PCS Act.
Mr. Ghulam Mohy-ud-Din, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), is serving as Additional Superintendent at Central Jail, Gujranwala.
Mr. Farhan Ahsan Naqvi, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), is posted as Deputy Superintendent (Development) at District Jail, Khanewal.
Mr. Mustafa Ahmed, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), is working as Deputy Superintendent (Executive) at District Jail, Gujrat.
Mr. Kashif Abdul Rehman, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), is serving as Deputy Superintendent (Executive) at High Security Prisons, Sahiwal.
Mr. Asif Mumtaz Luk, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), is posted as Deputy Superintendent (Development) at District Jail, Sargodha.
The seventh officer, Malik Rafaqat Ali, Deputy Superintendent Jail (BS-17), is serving as Deputy Superintendent (Development) at Central Jail, Gujranwala.
The Home Department notification has also been forwarded to the Accountant General Punjab, Inspector General of Prisons Punjab and the concerned Deputy Inspectors General of Prisons for information and necessary action.
The administrative decision is part of the Punjab Prisons Department’s routine promotion and professional development process. Completion of prescribed training courses is an important component of the career progression mechanism for officers moving from BS-17 to BS-18.
The officers are required to report to the Inspectorate of Prisons, Punjab, Lahore as directed and participate in the scheduled MPDD course. Their transfer for the duration of the training is intended to ensure that they are formally relieved from their current responsibilities and remain available
