Punjab issues monsoon safety guidelines for schools

Lahore – The Punjab Education Department has issued strict directives to ensure pre-monsoon preparedness measures in government schools across the province ahead of the expected monsoon rains.

According to the department, all school heads and Grade-IV staff have been instructed to ensure their attendance during school hours so that any emergency situation can be addressed promptly.

Under the directives, school principals have been asked to conduct a detailed inspection of school rooftops, drainage systems and the overall condition of school buildings. They have also been directed to examine dilapidated structures and make all necessary arrangements to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

The Education Department emphasized that all safety measures must be strictly implemented during the monsoon season. It warned that any negligence or failure to comply with the instructions would result in strict action against the concerned officials and school heads.

Officials stated that the purpose of these measures is to protect students, teachers and school property from potential damage during monsoon rains while ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of educational activities.
