The authority has been selected for a prestigious global award by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), USA, for its modern policing initiatives, including artificial intelligence, digital surveillance and advanced security systems.
The award will be presented during the international police conference scheduled to be held in October 2026 in Orlando, Florida. The IACP informed Managing Director Punjab Safe Cities Authority Muhammad Ahsan Younis about his selection for the honour.
The recognition highlights Punjab’s technology-driven policing model, which uses artificial intelligence, camera-based monitoring, digital data analysis and smart security solutions to strengthen crime prevention efforts.
Officials said these modern systems have transformed traditional policing methods by enabling faster response, improved monitoring and better protection for citizens.
MD Punjab Safe Cities Authority Muhammad Ahsan Younis said the international recognition was a proud achievement for Pakistan and Punjab. He added that the authority was working to establish global standards in the use of technology for public safety.
