LAHORE: Educational institutions across Punjab, including schools in Lahore, reopened on Monday after more than two and a half months of summer vacation.

According to the Punjab Education Department’s notification, single-shift schools will begin classes at 8am and close at 1:30pm. Double-shift institutions will operate in two sessions, with the first running from 8am to noon and the second from 1pm to 5:30pm.

The reopening marks the end of the province-wide summer break, with students and teachers returning to classrooms as educational activities resume under the newly announced schedule.

The development comes as several other national issues remain in focus, including political consultations between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, concerns over the proposed judicial commission into the Mir Raza case, and renewed debate over the relocation of major national institutions from Karachi to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, authorities in Islamabad have intensified enforcement of traffic regulations, while political leaders across the country continue to exchange statements on governance, constitutional matters and local government issues.
