LAHORE: Punjab has taken a major step toward improving specialised healthcare for children with the completion of the province’s first dedicated paediatric burn unit at Children’s Hospital Lahore.
The newly established facility has been developed on the upper floor of the hospital’s existing Diagnostic Block and is designed to provide comprehensive treatment and critical care for young burn patients.
The 30-bed unit includes eight intensive care beds and three fully equipped operating theatres, strengthening the hospital’s capacity to manage serious burn injuries among children.
Healthcare authorities have also completed the recruitment of consultant staff for the facility. Medical officers and nursing personnel have been appointed and deployed to ensure the unit is ready to provide specialised care.
