Qatar has officially confirmed the start of high-level negotiations between the United States and Iran in Switzerland, marking a significant diplomatic effort to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to a statement issued by Qatar’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday, the talks began under the framework of the Lake Lucerne Summit. The first session of the summit’s high-level committee brought together representatives from the United States, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan, which are serving as mediating countries in the dialogue process.

The negotiations are focused on securing a lasting peace agreement and addressing key issues outlined in a memorandum of understanding recently reached between Washington and Tehran. Officials from the participating countries expressed hope that the discussions would pave the way for a comprehensive settlement capable of reducing regional tensions and preventing further escalation.
