Queen Camilla’s absence from King Charles III’s ongoing Caribbean tour has attracted attention, with reports suggesting that her longstanding discomfort with flying influenced her decision to miss several stops.
The King began his nine-day Autumn Tour on October 27, with the Bahamas as his first destination. His itinerary also includes visits to Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda.
However, Camilla did not accompany her husband for the initial part of the royal trip. According to the Express, the Queen is a nervous flyer and prefers to limit the number of flights she takes whenever possible.
Her reluctance to travel by air has reportedly been known for years. Hello! Magazine previously reported that although Camilla dislikes flying, she sometimes has to confront that fear because of her royal responsibilities.
Meanwhile, King Charles offered a glimpse into his travel routine through a post shared on the Royal Family’s official Instagram account while he was travelling to the Bahamas.
According to the post, the monarch uses his time aboard the aircraft to read briefing papers, handle government correspondence, review official documents and discuss ongoing projects with his team.
The King’s three-day visit to the Bahamas has now concluded, and he has continued his Caribbean tour in Guyana.
Camilla is expected to join her husband for the remaining engagements in Antigua and Barbuda, allowing the royal couple to appear together during the later stages of the visit.
