Rs. 5 million bounty dacoit Rizwan alias Irfan Shar killed in Sadiqabad encounter

Notorious dacoit *Rizwan alias Irfan Shar*, son of Gulzar Shar and resident of Hakeem Ali Nawaz Shar,

*LAHORE:* Notorious dacoit *Rizwan alias Irfan Shar*, son of Gulzar Shar and resident of Hakeem Ali Nawaz Shar, District Naushahro Feroze, was killed in a police encounter within the limits of *Iqbalabad Police Station, Sadiqabad*.

According to a police spokesperson, acting on intelligence about the presence of wanted criminals, police set up a blockade. When officers signaled suspicious motorcyclists to stop, the armed dacoits opened *indiscriminate fire on the police party*. In the retaliatory fire, *Rizwan alias Irfan Shar* was killed. An *illegal weapon* was recovered from his possession.

DPO Rahim Yar Khan *Irfan Samoon* confirmed that the killed dacoit “was not an innocent citizen” and carried a *Rs. 5 million head money* announced by the Government of Sindh.

Rs. 5 Million Bounty Notified by Sindh Government

As per *Home Department Notification No. POL-II-HD/12-03/2025*, the Sindh Government had fixed *Rs. 5.00 million reward* for information leading to the arrest or elimination of *”Rizwan alias Rizzoo s/o Gulzar Shar”* of District Naushahro Feroze. The notification was issued under the SOP of 17.05.2021 with approval of the Chief Minister Sindh.

62 FIRs Across 4 Districts: Record of Heinous Crimes

Police documents reveal Rizwan alias Irfan Shar was wanted in *62 FIRs* registered between 2020 and 2025. The cases span *Naushahro Feroze, Khairpur, Sanghar, and Shaheed Benazirabad (SBA)* districts.

Major Police Stations: Padidan, DK Mari, Daras, Bhiria Road, Bhiria City, Mehrabpur, Faiz Ganj, Kot Lalu, Daur, Phull

Charges Include:  

– *PPC*: 324 – Attempted Murder, 353 – Assault/Obstruction of Police, 398, 399, 401, 402 – Dacoity & Robbery, 148, 149 – Rioting with deadly weapons

– *Special Laws*: *ATA 6,7* – Anti-Terrorism Act, *Explosive Substance Act* – FIR 377/24 http://N.Feroze, *SAA 23* – Arms Act

Case Status Summary:

– *Absconder*: 18+ cases

– *Proclaimed Offender (P.O)*: 10+ cases

– *Arrested*: 7 cases

– *Bail*: 3 cases

– *Bari/Acquitted*: 4 cases

– *Be-gunah/C-Class*: 3 cases

He was declared *P.O* in cases including FIR 27/24 Bhiria Road, 124/24 Mehrabpur, 203/24 Padidan, and 71/24 Phull.

Shar Gang & Katcha Area Operations

Rizwan Shar belonged to the *Shar Gang*, active in the *Katcha areas* along the Sindh-Punjab border including *Ghotki, Ubauro, Ronti, and Rahim Yar Khan*.

Security officials say the Shar Gang is involved in *kidnapping for ransom, attacks on police, and highway robberies*. Dacoits reportedly lure victims via *Facebook and TikTok* with offers of cheap vehicles, then abduct them in Katcha areas for ransom.

Punjab and Sindh police conduct *joint Intelligence-Based Operations* in these areas. Several other Shar Gang members including *Alam Shar, Nazim Shar, Yasin Shar, and Rahib Shar* have previously been killed or arrested.

Police said teams from the entire circle have been mobilized to *arrest accomplices* who escaped during the Sadiqabad encounter.

Authorities stated that elimination of Rizwan Shar is a major success against organized dacoit gangs operating in the Katcha belt.
